In this presentation, Inga and Charlotte examine both the potential and the challenges of participatory research in bridging neurodivergent community priorities with academic agendas. They reflect on the tensions and power imbalances that arise when research "on" communities replaces research "with" them and consider the crucial role of researchers in challenging traditional hierarchies. The presenters will reflect on their roles as researchers and how community can be engaged in a meaningful way in research, drawing on lived experiences and practical examples.
